<Part 3: Hackett Busters!>

AN: I’m afraid I’ve got some bad news for you. EFs been kidnapped. Fortunately thanks to an anonymous tip I have found the place where he is being held by a gang of people wearing animal mask. They’re holding him at some abandoned amusement park that was based on movies. The gangs leader wears a bunny mask and is called The Peterman. I have no idea why though. I tried to free EF earlier but I was ambushed by Petermans forces before I could find him.  I escaped and as I tended to my wounds I came across this strange girl. She told me she could take me to EF. Not sure if I can trust her but I’m running out of time. I will try again after I get some rest. Here are the links to pictures of what Peterman and the Strange Girl look like:

[Hanna Shepard now retired from the Alliance was waiting for Shepard and his family by at the docks of Boston, Massachusetts. Yafreen, Chance and Prova ran to her and gave her a big hug well Davet trying to keep from looking like a dork stood back and waited for his Grandma to come to him.]

-Hannah: Oh I’ve missed you all so much. Ah, Davet come her! *grabs his arm and pulls him into a tight hug and gave him a wet  long kiss on the cheek.

-Davet: Uuuuuh!

[She let go of him and he wiped the saliva from his cheek.]

-Yafreen: We’ve missed you too! Are you taking us trick or treating?!

-Hannah: Of course I am and guess what. I bought you all your costumes.

-Yafreen: Yes!

[She grabbed Hanna by the neck and jumped up and down excitedly.]

-Yafreen: Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

-Hannah: You’re welcome Yafry Bug.

[Hanna Shepard had nicknames for all her grandchildren.]

-Yafreen: What am I going to be?

-Hannah: I’ll leave that as a surprise until we get home. Now come along all of you. We have a lot to do and Halloween is only three days away.

[The kids all followed her down the hallway leaving Shepard and Tali there with all their luggage.]

-Tali: Ok she just completely forgot about us.

-Shepard: She has four grandkids now. We’re chopped liver to her.

-Tali: I don’t even understand Earth idioms yet what you just said makes perfect sense.

[Hannah Shepard came back around the corner.]

-Hannah: Oh by the way son?

-Shepard: Yeah?

-Hannah: Admiral Hackett, would like to see you two. He didn’t tell me why. I’ll see you at home.

-Tali: What part of retirement does Hackett not get?

-Shepard: Oh I’m sure he just planned a surprised welcome back party or something. Let’s go see what he needs.

[Once their belongings were being taken care of Shepard and Tali headed to the Alliance Base. When they opened the door, it was dark and quiet and looked abandoned.]

-Tali: Ah are you getting the same vibes I am.

-Shepard: It’s probably just the faulty wiring. Boston HQ has a history of strange and scary things happening.

-Tali: Wait what?

[The door slammed shut behind them and locked them inside.]

-Tali: Ah, I have a bad feeling about this.

-Shepard: Tali, look at me. Do I look scared?

-Tali: Not if I look at your face. However your fingers won’t stop tapping.

[Shepard looked down to see that she was right and tried to stop them but couldn’t. He put his other hand on top of them to stop them but then his left foot started tapping.]

-Shepard: I’m not scarred. It’s just my PTSD, it does stuff like this. Now lets go talk to Hackett so I can prove to you that there’s nothing strange going on here.

[A nearby door flew open unexpectedly and the outside sunlight shinned on a shadowy figure. Shepard and Tali grabbed each other and held onto each other tightly as they screamed at the top of their lungs. An elderly man came walking out.]

-Elderly man: Oh sorry, just heading to the restroom. Darn prune juice.

[He walked to the restroom leaving Shepard and Tali there holding each other.]

-Shepard: We don’t talk about this to anyone.

-Tali: Agreed.

[They made it to the Admirals Office to discover a man on the floor trembling. They kneeled down to check on him.]

-Shepard: Hey! Buddy, you ok?

[The man looked up. He looked very weak.]

-Soldier: The ghost of Hackett has returned.

-Tali: Ghost of Hackett?

-Shepard: Oh right. Hackett died.

-Tali: But how could his ghost return, especially since Hackett wasn't a ghost to begin with.

-Soldier: You know what I mean! Also to answer your question- ugh!

[He grabbed onto his heart.]

-Shepard: Stay with us buddy, tell us what you know.

-Soldier: Before I tell you, you must turn on the stereo and set it to track 13.

[Tali got up and did as he asked. The “Friday the 13th” theme song began playing.]

-Soldier: No, no, track 13.

-Tali: Ah right just a sec.

[She flipped through the tracks. The “Halloween” theme song started playing.]

-Soldier: No, track 13.

-Tali: Working on it.

[She flipped through them some more. The ”Jaws” theme song started playing.]

-Soldier: I said Track 13!

-Tali: It’s being stupid ok!

[She keeps flipping. The “Star Wars” theme song plays.]

-Soldier: That’s not even relevant!

-Tali: Get off my back ok! I never used Earth stereos!

[She keeps flipping until “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of Year” plays.]

-Soldier: Ah there we go. Now come closer and I will tell ye of the most frightening tale ye ever heard.

-Shepard: Why are you just now starting to talk like a pirate?

-Soldier: It’s the Halloween Season, I can be whatever I want!

-Tali: Very well now can you tell us what happened.

-Soldier: Last night at midnight of October 27th, 2189. Out in the waters of Boston Harbor , a small clipper ship drew toward land. Suddenly, out of the night, the fog rolled in. For a moment, they could see nothing, not a foot in front of them. Then, they saw a light.

-Tali: Wait if this 2189 what’s the point of having boats?

-Soldier: Oh I see. Ye don’t want me to finish the story and let you face the super natural blindly.

-Tali: Um, no the story’s good, very compelling.

-Soldier: It was a fire burning on the shore, strong enough to penetrate the swirling mist. They steered a course toward the light. But it was a campfire, like this one.

-Shepard: There is no campfire in here. That’s against safety protocol.

-Soldier: Geez can I finish the story! I’m trying to save your life!

-Shepard: Sorry.

-Soldier:The ship crashed against the rocks, the hull sheared in two, mars snapped like a twig. The wreckage sank, with all the men aboard. At the bottom of the sea, lay the Elizabeth Dane, with her crew, their lungs filled with salt water, their eyes open, staring to the darkness. And above, as suddenly as it come, the fog lifted, receded back across the ocean and never came again. But it is told by the fishermen, and their fathers and grandfathers, that when the fog returns the men at the bottom of the sea, out in the water of Boston Harbor will rise up and search for the campfire that led them to their dark, icy death.

[The soldier stopped talking.]

-Tali: And?

-Soldier: And that’s it. Nothing else has happened.

-Shepard: You were suppose to tell us about how Hacketts Ghost is lurking around here.

-Soldier: Well how am I supposed to know that. I’m not some ghost whisperer.

-Tali: Then why did you tell us that story.

-Soldier: Because I think it’s pretty good and nobody ever lets me tell it. This was the perfect opportunity.

-Tali: You’re a Bosh’tet.

-Soldier: Totally worth it.

-Shepard: Well at least we know what we’re fighting.

-Soldier: Wait, I may not be able to help you understand the ghost but I do have information for you.

-Tali: What is it?

-Soldier: Hacketts Ghost is right behind you.

[They turned to see Hacketts Ghost moaning and walking creepily towards them.]

-Tali: Oh Keelah!

-Soldier: He can’t move that fast! Run Shepards Run!

[They made their way around the ghost and ran out into the hall and back to the front entrance but it was still locked.]

-Shepard: Ah it’s not opening!

[Hacketts ghost lurched ever so closer to them.]

-Tali: Out of the way, let me see what I can do.

[She began hacking the door open but it wouldn’t comply with her demands and the ghost was just a few meters away.]

-Tali: It won’t open! Not even for me!

-Shepard: Keep trying! If anyone can do it you can!

[Tali continued hacking but it still wouldn’t open.]

-Tali: It still won’t open!

-Shepard: That’s it!

[He yelled as the ghost was only ten feet away now. He stuck his hand out.]

-Tali: Shepard, what are you doing!

-Shepard: I have no idea. Stooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo-

[The ghost continued walking very slowly towards them.]

-Shepard: ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo-

[The ghost was still walking very slowly towards them but was now only five feet away from Shepard.]

-Shepard: ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooop!

[The ghost was now able to reach Shepard and raised his hands to grab him.]

-Tali: Shepard!

-Shepard: Taliiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii!

[The ghost grabbed Shepard.]

-Tali: Shepaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaard!

-Shepard: Taliiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii!

[He stopped screaming, turned around, smiled and pointed at her.]

-Shepard: We got you!

-Tali: Wh- what?!

-Shepard: Yep, the score is now 2-2. See look-

[He poked through Hacketts ghost.]

-Shepard: It’s just hologram.

[The elderly man and the soldier came running out laughing to.]

-Shepard: Nice work guys.

-Soldier: No problem Shepard.

-Elderly man: Yeah I always enjoy scaring you young whippersnappers.

-Tali: That’s it Shepard. You have entered uncharted territory. I will show you what happens when mess with a Quarians emotions- right after I go throw up.

[She held her mouth close and ran for the restroom sink. Half an hour later they walked into Hannah Shepards house.]

-Shepard: Hey mom. I was able scare Tali.

-Hannah: That’s great!

[Hannah Shepard came out of the kitchen dressed as Elsa from "Frozen". There was an awkward silence.]

-Hannah: What?

[Shepard and Tali both screamed and ran out the door.]

-Yafreen: Oh don’t worry about it grandma. They tend to get overly emotional about things.

-Davet: Yeah they really need to learn to just let it go.

Might I just remind people that all music is relevant at all times, no matter the situation. Even in one as stupid as not being able to work an Earth stereo.
